Stages of Puberty
in Boys

Boy's Changes in Puberty happen very quickly and effect the testicles (balls)
which grow and develop pubic hair, the penis increases in length and girth.
Before puberty boys can experience an erection however it is not until puberty
that ejaculation becomes possible for the first time. Teenagers may experience
their first wet dream during puberty and begin to experiment with masturbation.
Puberty is a great time for guys to develop their physical fitness. |

Ten Stages of Puberty
- Up to age 14
Scrotum at this stage is thick and not brown in colour.
- Age 9 to 14
Testicles begin to grow.
- Average age 11/12
Soft light coloured pubic hair starts to grow around testicles.
- Age 10 to 15
Scrotum darkens and thins out.
- Penis starts to increase in length.
- Boys may experience acne as a result of hormonal changes.
- Average age 13/14
New pubic hairs grow darker, begin to curl, and start to cover more of the
groin. Facial and arm pit hair begins to grow. A growth spurt usually happens
around this time. Guys may also experience their first ejaculation or wet
dream.
- Two years after first pubic hair
Testes and penis continue to grow and increases in girth. Pubic hair gets
thicker. Body hair continues to grow also.
- Around age 18
Hair in the groin spreads to inner thighs. Increase in physical strength.
- Around age 21
Puberty is usually completed by this age and any acne should subside.
